Suresh Gehani is a founder Director of ABPS Infra. Suresh has around three decades of experience in the energy sector in India with initial 6 years with Developers and 24 years’ experience in Consulting. His experience spans the entire value chain of the power sector, viz., Generation, Transmission, Distribution and Retail Supply. He has led around 350 assignments and provided consulting services to approximately 18 State Electricity Regulatory Commissions and the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission in India, Ministry of Power, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Forum of Regulators, Generation Companies, Transmission and Distribution Companies, Multi-laterals and as well as Financial Institutions.

He has extensive experience in the Energy and utilities Sector in India in the areas of Policy and Regulatory Affairs, Business Planning, Energy Efficiency, Demand/Supply Assessment, Corporate/ Financial Advisory, Technical Assurance Services, Techno Economic Feasibility, Valuation, Pricing, and Risk Assessment. He has developed complex financial models for tariff determination as well as for bidding for new projects in the Energy Sector.

Suresh was the Head – Power Sector at ICRA Advisory Services, before resigning to start ABPS Infra.

Suresh has graduated in Mechanical Engineering from REC, Bhopal and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Nagpur University.

Palaniappan Meyyappan is a founder Director of ABPS Infra. Palaniappan has around 29 years of management consulting experience, with around 24 years of experience in Energy Sector consulting.

His experience in the energy sector spans the regulatory, commercial, and financial spheres. His expertise spans the areas of Licensing, Regulatory Affairs, Business Planning, Demand-Supply Assessment, Techno Economic Feasibility, Valuation, Due Diligence, Financial Appraisal, with primary focus on the Distribution and Retail Supply segment.

He has overseen over 300 assignments and provided consulting services to approximately 18 State Regulatory Commissions and the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission in India, as well as advised the Ministry of Power, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Forum of Regulators, Generation Companies, Transmission and Distribution Companies, DFID Programs and as well as Financial Institutions.

He has taken on the responsibility of framing Regulations and Policies, scrutinizing utility proposals for the approval of capital cost, ARR (Aggregate Revenue Requirement), and tariffs, as well as designing tariffs at the generation, transmission, and retail levels (Distribution tariff). He has been deeply involved in implementation of the innovative parallel licensing framework in Mumbai city, and has assisted ERCs in several States in the tariff determination process, determination of cost of supply, etc.

Palaniappan was the Head-Energy Practice in ICRA Advisory Services before resigning to start ABPS Infra.

Palaniappan is a Production Engineer from VJTI Mumbai and holds a Masters Degree in Management Studies (Finance) from Mumbai University. He has also completed his Diploma in Business Finance from ICFAI, Hyderabad.

Mr. Vinod Gambhir

Director

Vinod Kumar Gambhir joined ABPS Infra as a Director in 2014. Mr Gambhir has around 20 years of experience in the power sector in various organizations starting from public sector entities, viz., Triveni Structurals Ltd., National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd. (NTPC), Powergrid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL), and subsequently for around 16 years in the private sector with Ispat Industries Ltd., Orrissa Power Consortium Ltd., BS Transcomm, and GVPR Ltd.

Mr. Gambhir has worked extensively in Contracts Management and has in-depth knowledge of structuring/ drafting /finalization of EPC Contracts especially FIDIC & bilateral/multi-lateral contracts, successfully closing of the Contracts. Mr. Gambhir has also worked extensively in the Project execution utilising his Project Management skills for coordination / monitoring of the projects . He has been deeply involved in the development of BOOT power projects, viz., 1082 MW Coal Based Power Project at Bhadrawati, 468 MW Combined Cycle Gas based Power Project in Vemagiri (Andhra Pradesh), 20 MW Samal Hydro Project in Orissa, etc. Vinod Gambhir is articulate in interpretation of Contractual Clauses, negotiations and finalization of EPC Contracts, PPA, fuel Supply Agreements, Transportation Agreements, etc. Mr. Gambhir was the key person in successfully bidding and concluding Transmission Services Agreement with REC on behalf of BS Transcomm for 765 kV transmission Line on BOOM basis.

Mr. Gambhir is a Graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College (Now NIT) with Post Graduate Qualification in Business Administration from University of Allahabad.

Sanjiv Singh

Sanjiv has been associated with ABPS Infra since 2010. Sanjiv has over 17 years of experience in the Power Sector, of which over 14 years are in consulting and 3 years in Power Plant Operations and Management.

Sanjiv has also been a Member of the Advisory Board for the School of Business Administration at UPES. Sanjiv has extensively worked and has led teams to execute several assignments pertaining to energy sector involving technical and well as financial expertise.

Sanjiv holds a B. Tech Degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA in Power Management from UPES.

Shashank Bisht
Shashank Bisht

Shashank is having 12+ years of experience in power sector with core expertise in power distribution domain.

Shashank has assisted various Distribution Licensees in different states on retainership basis. He has provided advisory support to power distribution utilities in Tariff Determination, Policies and Regulations, Loss Reduction Planning, Open Access, Cost of Supply Study, Business Process Re-engineering, Implementation and Monitoring of Financial and Operational Efficiency Improvement Schemes, Bid Advisory, Commercial Audits, Baseline Studies, Public Private Partnership, Procurement Manual, Capex Planning and Power Procurement Planning.

Shashank has also assisted State Electricity Regulatory Commissions for Capital Cost determination and Tariff Order issuance for Generation, Transmission and Distribution Utilities. 

Shashank is a Mechanical Engineer and MBA in Power Management.

ATUL PANDEY
ATUL PANDEY

Atul has more than 12 years of experience in the field of Consultancy, Power Exchange and Power plant. Atul has expertise in Regulatory, Green Power, Power trading, designing & handling new digital tools and Power scheduling. Prior to joining ABPS Infra, he worked with the Indian Energy Exchange.

Atul holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering from Mumbai University. He has done his MBA in Power Management from UPES.

Ashwin Govindan has a total experience of 9 years including 7 years of energy sector Consulting experience. Ashwin has worked with Regulatory Commissions and State Utilities pan India.

Ashwin completed his B.Tech. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Ashwin is a gold medallist in his MBA in Power Management from UPES.

Anil Kumar has over 13 years of experience in the power sector, and has been with ABPS Infra for over 6 years.  Prior to joining ABPS Infra, Anil has worked with prominent organizations like Indosolar Ltd., Torrent Power, and PTC India. His experience spans various facets of the industry, viz., Generation, Transmission, and Distribution business, Regulatory and Power Trading. He has successfully engaged with diverse entities such as Central Commission, State Commissions, State Discoms, Refineries, SEZs, Railways, Private entities and Open Access Consumers, showcasing his versatility and ability to deliver innovative solutions in dynamic team environments.

Anil has done his Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics & Communication and has done his MBA in Power Management from NPTI Faridabad.

Saibal Chowdhury

Saibal has over 7 years of experience in the energy and utilities sector in India spanning the areas of policy and regulatory support, demand/supply assessment, techno economic feasibility, pricing, risk assessment and financial advisory. He has provided regulatory support to CERC and SERCs of Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Telangana and JERC.

Saibal has been instrumental in development of determination of Green Energy Tariff and its associated modalities for promotion and Integration of Renewable Energy in Madhya Pradesh, which was officially recognized by the Forum of Regulators (FOR).

Saibal is a Mechanical Engineering Graduate and has completed MBA in Power Management.

Tapan Kumar

Tapan has around 7 years of experience in the Energy Sector in India.

Tapan has worked for Thermal Generation Company and with Power Sector Consulting Firms on various assignments in Thermal, Transmission and Distribution Sector.

Tapan’s expertise is in tariff determination, Financial Models, Revenue Budget projections, Due Diligence activities, market analysis, and research.

Tapan has done MBA in Energy Trading and Post Graduate in Power Plant Operations and Maintenance.

Ratul Paul has around 7 years of experience in the energy sector and has been with ABPS Infra for more than 4 years. Ratul has worked on regulatory assignments in Gujarat, Assam, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Punjab and has been involved in developing financial models, drafting of Tariff Petitions for Transmission and Distribution Licensees, and drafting of Tariff Orders.

Ratul has done his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering and has completed his MBA in Power Management from UPES.

MK RAMESH

MK Ramesh is a PMP Certified Project Management consultant having 39 years’ experience in project management including 4.5 years of global consultancy exposure stint in Dubai and Kenya in the power sector.  He has specialized skills in end-to-end management of engineering projects of 400 kV EHV lines and substation projects and Contracts including claim management. MK Ramesh has the ability to establish strong relationships with key players in the industry and work with large teams in achieving the organizational goals.
